Architectural Slack l Floor Lamp by Mart van Schijndel for Martech 1979
The Slack I floor lamp was designed in 1979 by Dutch architect and designer Mart van Schijndel, a key figure associated with Dutch Structuralism. This lamp was produced in small numbers in his own workshop, Martech, each piece was handmade.
Constructed from off-white lacquered sheet metal, the lamp is fitted with an HQI gas discharge light source positioned at the top. designed as an uplighter, it casts a soft, diffused glow upwards while allowing subtle light to escape downwards through its open structure, accentuating the architectural silhouette of the piece. The starter is located discreetly at the base. As typical for this type of lighting, the lamp requires a few minutes after switching on to reach full luminosity.
Remains in very good condition with some minimal traces of use and age. No damages or scratches.
